BEFORE YOU PITCH, OR INTRODUCE YOURSELF AS AN ARTIST OR WRITER, WOULD YOU KINDLY INDULGE US?
RQ just launched its first issue in summer 2019. It was a bit of a barn raising: a lot of hard work, a lot of late nights, and a good bit of investment mixed with a healthy dose of crazy and a whole lot of volunteers.

So, we have a proposition for you: If we want interesting arts coverage in town, we have to crowd-source it. It’s just all of us together. So, if you’re thinking about pitching us, we’d strongly suggest subscribing first, or finding a single copy (we’re working on getting in the library!) so that we know when we hear from you that have an understanding and appreciation of what we’re doing and where we want to go.

It’s pretty different from anything you’ve ever seen! We think you’ll like it. And it’s best if you discover a little more first before being in touch. And please, don’t put us on any mailing lists…. it’s a sure-fire way not to get coverage. We’re small and specific. If you treat us like people, we’ll treat you like people. We promise!

RQ is a quarterly print journal of art and ideas based in Philadelphia. Subscriptions are available. RQ will also be available retail in a select number of Philadelphia-based businesses. If you’re interested in distributing RQ, please be in touch.

RQ has a limited number of full-page advertisements available in each issue. Prices are on a sliding scale from $300 - $995. Please request information via the form on this page about our scale, specs, and deadlines, and find out a little more here.

In late May, we’ll post guidelines to submit your very best work for consideration of publication in RQ. We have limited space, but we’re interested in building relationships with artists and writers. Be in touch if you’re interested in contributing by filling out the form to the right.
